<p>The &#8220;Hanging Knee Up&#8217;s&#8221; abdominal exercise is the ultimate athletic exercise that works the entire core.   Remember to drive your chin down on the way up, and descend very slow.  You will feel your legs worked somewhat with this one.  It is an awesome functional, athletic movement for you athletes.</p>

<p>Keys to getting a six pack:<br />
You can have the greatest, most muscular set of abs in the world, but if they are blanketed by a layer of body fat, who cares. In order to rid yourself of the extra body fat around your midsection, you need to incorporate effective cardio sessions into your fitness plan. You cannot spot-reduce the midsection by doing extra ab exercises like crunches or sit-ups. You first must burn off the body fat through proper cardio to properly define the area.</p>
<p>Abdominal training by itself will not do much. Cardio needs to be intense enough to do the trick. Three to four sessions a week of intense jogging, running, the Stairmaster, the elliptical, jumping rope, or biking should be enough to get the process in gear. Swimming, hiking, and taking aerobics classes are beneficial as well. Nothing beats jogging or running. It is the most intense, efficient, and effective method of burning calories. If running outside hurts your joints, try running inside on a treadmill or outside on a dirt path. It definitely is easier on the body.</p>
<p>Again, you NEED three to four intense cardio sessions a week to help create a calorie deficit and help rid the body of the fat that covers your abs.</p>
<p>Proper Nutrition:</p>
<p>Do not sabotage your results in the gym by giving yourself a passport to pig out. Ridding the body of fat once and for all is accomplished by proper nutrition more so than incorporating cardio. At the end of the day, if you have consumed more calories than you have expended, you add body fat. So you need to burn more calories than you consume.</p>
<p>Nutrition is important because you can reduce the amount of calories you take in, therefore greatly having an effect on the amount which you have to expend through cardio. Eat five to six small, well-balanced meals spaced apart about every three to four hours. Try to keep something healthy on hand.</p>

Another no. I then ask, &#8220;Then why would you do that with your abs?&#8221;</p>

<p>Now lets perform the exercise</p>
<p>To begin, lie on your back with your knees bent at a 90, feet flat on the floor and the small of your back pushed flat into the floor.  Take in a<br />
very slow long breathe and start to slowly exhale ¾ of your air while you are pulling your belly button down toward your spine (I like to put my<br />
index finger on my belly-button and feel it raise as I take the long breathe in and then feel it<br />
start downward as I exhale ¾ of my lung<br />
capacity).  While at the same time pushing your lower back into the floor and drive you chin down toward your chest slightly.  Once you have ¾ of<br />
your air out hold your breathe and suck in through your throat with your breathe being held for 5-10 seconds.  As you are holding your breath<br />
and sucking in, think about pulling your innards up and under your rib-cage.  It is called the ab vacuum for a reason, it is a little hard to come<br />
out of it and resume your normal breathing;  </p>
<p>But you will, and once you do relax and take a couple breathes and repeat;  Starting out do 1 set of<br />
6-9 repetitions, 2-3 times per week.</p>
<p>You can do the ab vacuum anywhere, and need no equipment.  It&#8217;s a great way to wake up, or to end your day.  It will take lots of practice and<br />
each week you will be able to feel the muscles working more and more.  Once you get good at the technique you will be able to feel a ½ circle burning sensation in the pubic area.  Don&#8217;t be<br />
alarmed, just feel good about mastering one of the most unique and effective abdominal exercises<br />
out there.  Please don&#8217;t give up on this exercise, once you master it you will be able to reverse gravity, and start to put back in place<br />
what years of inactivity and bad posture has started to let hang over your belt line. </p>

<p>Keys to getting a six pack:<br />
You can have the greatest, most muscular set of abs in the world, but if they are blanketed by a layer of body fat, who cares. In order to rid yourself of the extra body fat around your midsection, you need to incorporate effective cardio sessions into your fitness plan. You cannot spot-reduce the midsection by doing extra ab exercises like crunches or sit-ups. You first must burn off the body fat through proper cardio to properly define the area.</p>

Three to four sessions a week of intense jogging, running, the Stairmaster, the elliptical, jumping rope, or biking should be enough to get the process in gear. As with any dumbbell exercise, form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don&#8217;t use too much weight, if you can&#8217;t do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud &#8220;one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand&#8221; on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise.</p>
<p>Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn&#8217;t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.</p>
