Where can you find free stomach exercises to flatten your stomach  ? </p>
<p>The internet is probably one of  the best sources for finding free information . There are hundreds of sites a  person will find just by using the search words &#8220;free stomach exercises&#8221; or  similar phrases. These sites will give step-by-step instructions on how to  perform a variety of exercises to flatten stomachs.  It is simple to print them out and have the paper available when performing the exercise once you have found one that you like  . <br /> The library is another great source of finding free exercise information  . The library may truly have  more information then the internet; it is just not as convenient. A person who  takes the time to visit the library can find books on how to flatten their  stomach read magazine articles and borrow videos that talk about exercises to  flatten stomachs. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> This article is going to give you insight on how to do core abdominal exercises for beginners without hurting your lower back  . If you are new to abdominal and core <a href="http://www.myfitteru.com" target="_blank">circuit training workouts</a>, we have to go through a couple of biomechanical things first to understand how you can injure the lower back while doing various movements. </p>
<p> You are in spinal flexion when you do a sit-up  . If you are on your stomach and you are arching your back, you are in spinal extension. Spinal flexion can become a problem for the lower back because we spend a lot of time in a sitting position &#8211; in the car, at your desk, on the couch when you watch tv, etc&#8230; </p>
<p> What happens is that the lumbar vertebrae begins to push on the disks in between then and pushes the disks backwards over time  . Over time, there is a wedging force on your intervertebral disks that can lead to herniated or slipped disks or various impingement-type issues. That is something we want to avoid. If you have lower back pain and doctors tell you to do sit-ups, all you will do is further the problem. What we need to do is develop strength and stability through static exercises and I am going to take you through three of them right now. <br /> The first exercise we&#8217;re going to look at doing is called the Bird Dog  . On a floor mat, get down on your hands and knees with your hands right underneath your shoulders and your knees underneath your hips. What you want to do here is find your neutral spine. Find a position where you can relax your spine and it feels relaxed. Draw your abdominal muscles in toward your spine. Pretend like you are putting on a tight pair of pants. That is where you want to start. When you tighten your core like that it is called an abdominal brace . </p>
<p>From this position, you are going to take your right arm and lift it up to the side in a right angle so that your fist points forward and your forearm is parallel and in line with your body. Keep the arm strong and activate the lateral muscles in your back. Raise your left leg at the same time, straight back. Stabilize and hold. Do not twist or turn. Stay nice and controlled. After a few seconds, bring your arm and leg back to the starting position and then raise your opposite arm and leg. This will stabilize the core which is everything from the shoulder to the top of the knee . </p>
<p>This is a fundamental exercise for a beginner or someone that suffers from back pain . Remember to keep the abdominals nice and tight and go for 12 repetitions on each side. You can do 2-3 sets. It is a very basic exercise but it is very demanding if you do it properly. </p>
<p>The second exercise is the Side Bridge . If you are a total beginner or have low back pain I suggest that you start from your knees. </p>
<p>Lie on your side and place your forearm on the floor, elbow directly under your shoulder, hand facing away from you in front. Bend your knees and raise your hips up toward the sky . You are working on the side that is nearest to the floor, and there is a bit of shoulder stability needed as well. </p>
<p>You are training deep abdominal muscles . One of them is called quadratus lumborum. It is a spinal stabilizer that works to stabilize your spine during lateral movements. Any time you are bending from side to side, that is the muscle that&#8217;s working. Here we want to focus on stability . </p>
<p>If this is too easy for you, then go from the feet rather than the knees . Legs straight, shoulders back. The core is tucked in and strong. Hold that for as long as you can whether it is 30 seconds or 45 seconds or more. The goal is to attain balance between your sides. If one side can go for a minute and the other for only 30 seconds, there is obviously an imbalance that we need to correct. <br /> The plank is the next exercise  . It&#8217;s basic, but a lot of people get it wrong and I am going to tell you why. Place your forearms and your feet on the floor. Do not let your lower back arch. Your pelvis should be moderately tipped forward so that you are tucking your tailbone underneath. You will have a slight rounding of the back, but nothing excessive. </p>
<p>The back is nearly flat but your pelvis is tucked under which engages your glutes and engages your core that much more. It keeps your spine much, much happier. Hold that position for as long as you can. If you feel pain in your back, tuck your pelvis under more.  This will take pressure and strain off your lower back by elongating the spine .</p>
<p>These are three fundamental exercises that anybody should start with, whether you are an absolute beginner, a 70-year-old person who has never worked out or whoever you are. If you have low back pain and even if you don&#8217;t have low back pain, if you want to do a great abdominal workout that doesn&#8217;t stress your spine, these three exercises will do that. </p>
<p> You will find that you will be getting more toned and increased strength through your mid section by following these exercises&nbsp;  . Remember, these exercises will make you stronger, but they will not make it easier to see your abs. That will come with full body <a href="http://www.myfitteru.com" target="_blank">circuit training workouts</a>, interval training, a proper diet, and lots of work. It doesn&#8217;t happen over night</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It may seem like the most obvious question in the world but believe me, without at least a basic understanding of the physiology and composition of this particular muscle group then your goal of well defined ripped abs will remain a distant dream.</p>
<p>There are six groups of abdominals, hence the phrase six pack, and they make up the core abdominal muscles. Your abs begin just under the rib cage and make their way all the way down to the pelvic area. On each side of your torso are two pairs of abdominals known as the external and internal obliques. These muscles are there primarily to support the movement of your spine from both side to side and the bending of your spine backward and forward. Your obliques play a key role in developing your core strength and are fundamental to your quest for lean ripped abs.</p>
<p>Now one extremely important fact to remember when working to develop ripped abs is that although the abs are made up of distinct muscle groups the abdominal area is in fact one muscle known as the Rectus Abdominus. Therefore it is virtually impossible to completely isolate just one area of your abs, because quite simply when you work your abs you work them all.  You will sometimes hear people saying “I need to work my lower abs” or something similar~{Every now and again you will hear someone say &#8220;I have to work on my lower abs&#8221;}~Occasionally you might hear someone say &#8221; I have to work on my lower abs&#8221; or something similar}~{On occasion you will hear someone say &#8221; I have to work on my lower abs&#8221; or something along those lines}~{Every now and again you will hear someone say &#8220;I have to work on my lower abs&#8221;}~Occasionally you might hear someone say &#8221; I have to work on my lower abs&#8221; or something similar}. This is simply not possible without working the rest of the muscle group at the same time.</p>
<p>The third and final group of abdominal muscles are known as the transverse abdominus muscles. As with the external and internal obliques they are invisible from the outside, they do however, play just as pivotal a role in your quest for lean ripped abs as the other groups. They are mainly responsible for ensuring correct body posture. A good analogy would be to look at your transverse abdominus as your own built in weight belt.</p>
<p>I believe it is vitally important to stress at this point just how vital strong abs can be. Ripped abs are a great goal to work towards, not just aesthetically but because strong abs contribute to good core stability which goes a long way to reducing potential problems in later life. Weak abdominal muscles will contribute towards problems such as lower back pain or indeed any other postural issues. Strong abs will go a long way towards reducing the risk of injury when you train or indeed just help to build your core strength when performing everyday activities.</p>
<p>It is also important to remember that the abs are muscles just like any other and as such they will require a period of recovery after a workout. The good news however, is that given their unique fibre composition they actually require slightly less recovery time than most of the other major muscle groups. Devise your workout plan around your ultimate goal, whether that be just to build strength or to develop awesome ripped abs, and stick to it rigidly. Best of luck.</p>

<p>Now lets perform the exercise</p>
<p>To begin, lie on your back with your knees bent at a 90, feet flat on the floor and the small of your back pushed flat into the floor.  Take in a<br />
very slow long breathe and start to slowly exhale ¾ of your air while you are pulling your belly button down toward your spine (I like to put my<br />
index finger on my belly-button and feel it raise as I take the long breathe in and then feel it<br />
start downward as I exhale ¾ of my lung<br />
capacity).  While at the same time pushing your lower back into the floor and drive you chin down toward your chest slightly.  Once you have ¾ of<br />
your air out hold your breathe and suck in through your throat with your breathe being held for 5-10 seconds.  As you are holding your breath<br />
and sucking in, think about pulling your innards up and under your rib-cage.  It is called the ab vacuum for a reason, it is a little hard to come<br />
out of it and resume your normal breathing;  </p>
<p>But you will, and once you do relax and take a couple breathes and repeat;  Starting out do 1 set of<br />
6-9 repetitions, 2-3 times per week.</p>
<p>You can do the ab vacuum anywhere, and need no equipment.  It&#8217;s a great way to wake up, or to end your day.  It will take lots of practice and<br />
each week you will be able to feel the muscles working more and more.  Once you get good at the technique you will be able to feel a ½ circle burning sensation in the pubic area.  Don&#8217;t be<br />
alarmed, just feel good about mastering one of the most unique and effective abdominal exercises<br />
out there.  Please don&#8217;t give up on this exercise, once you master it you will be able to reverse gravity, and start to put back in place<br />
what years of inactivity and bad posture has started to let hang over your belt line. </p>
<p>We have had several clients lose 3-10 inches off their waist with only 3-5 hours of exercise per week; and that includes cardio.  You can do it<br />
